Stas Vokman — Photographer and Producer

Originally from Siberia, Russia, I studied visual and theatrical arts. I ran my own video production company and theater studio, and three and a half years ago, I moved to the Netherlands after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. Since then, I have redefined myself as a creative professional: I have released three documentary films, two of which focus on LGBT refugees, and organized two photo exhibitions. Currently, I am working on Art Laboratory — a series of workshops and lectures on art for LGBT refugees — as well as my own film project.

My goal is to capture people as they truly are, with natural beauty and individuality. I invite my subjects to share their stories, embrace their confidence, and feel truly special. To me, confidence is beauty.

My approach is based on knowledge of human anatomy, the Stanislavski system, and emotional education. I read people through imagery, music, atmosphere, and details, turning the photography process into a form of art therapy. Even the most reserved person can open up, resulting in images that feel alive and authentic.

My style and photography have evolved alongside my personal and spiritual transformation. For those who value naturalness and sincerity, I create visual stories that are emotionally rich and deeply personal.

My artistic background from Russia and professional experience in the Netherlands allow me to blend cross-cultural sensitivity with a unique visual language, creating projects that speak for themselves.
